Li Wang: Art Teller


     Duton’s
International Group is honored to announce that we will present Li
Wang: Art Teller in our China Space (exhibition gallery) in Tianjin,
China from 7^th April to 15^th April 2018. The exhibition
will show a selection of Li Wang’s recent practices, including varied mediums
from contemporary ink, sculpture to print and installation.

     Born
in 1964, Li Wang received his art education at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts
in 1985; the artist is now one of the faculty members in the academy. 

     Specializing
in engraving, Li Wang also explores a wide range of medium for creativity,
attempting to seek new possibilities of creating art. In many of his new works,
the artist develops the themes of his observations on everyday life, showing
the characteristic scenes of Tianjin. As one of the prominent cities in China,
Tianjin is full of cultural diversity thanks to its superior location. 

     From
Li Wang’s depictions, we can see that the artist often presents his ideas in a
scene of between realistic and unrealistic. He likes to paint the figures in
different scales, sometimes big or small, playing with perspectives and
imaginations. Besides, animal is another important subject for the artist to
paint, which he has said “animals are friends with human, and we should stay
together peacefully.” Through Li Wang’s artistic practices, the viewers are
invited to explore the unique Tianjin-sense of humor and absurdity, experiencing
the conventional and the cultural of this beautiful city.
